While Archdale has a few comfort food restaurants in town, residents may access Greensboro, Winston-Salem or the neighboring city of High Point for dining, shopping and entertainment.
Archdale is home to Creekside Park, which is a popular recreational area for the community. The Hammon-Ragan House is a historic Victorian home in Archdale included on the National Register of Historic Places. It was originally constructed in 1880 and currently houses local businesses and organizations.

Archdale was originally a predominantly Quaker settlement under the name “Bush Hill”. The town changed its name to Archdale as a tribute to John Archdale, a Quaker who later served as British colonial governor of North Carolina and governor of South Carolina in 1695 and 1695. Archdale was officially incorporated in 1969. Today, the history and heritage of the area is celebrated at the annual Bush Hill Heritage Festival with music, games and crafts, attracting visitors from across the state.
